ContourPlot example 2
This example demonstrates how to create the plot using HLU C, HLU FORTRAN
library calls, or NCL. The example shows many of the most-used features
such as selecting the contour fill type, setting line patterns, and
controlling labels. The names of the example codes that create this plot
are cn02c.c, cn02f.f, and cn02n.ncl.
Discussion
Some of the resources are controlled through a resource file called cn02.res.
A detailed discussion about how to create the plot appears in the
comments of the source code for the example.
The HLU C program that generates this plot is
called cn02c.c.
The HLU FORTRAN program that generates this plot is
called cn02f.f.
The NCL script that generates this plot is
called cn02n.ncl.
The data for this plot is generated by the example's source code.
This example can be created using a C program (cn02c.c), a FORTRAN
program (cn02f.f), or an NCL script (cn02n.ncl). The examples are
installed in the following locations:
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/hluex/contourplot/cn02c.c
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/hluex/contourplot/cn02f.f
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/nclex/contourplot/cn02n.ncl
The resource file for this example is located in:
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/resfiles/contourplot/cn02.res
You can copy this example and run it by typing
"ng4ex cn02c",
"ng4ex cn02f", or "ng4ex cn02n". A copy of the source file and resource
file will be placed in your current working directory. The source code will
be compiled and automatically run for you.
