The Project Control Analyst (PCA) reports directly to the Planning and Control Division Head in the Business Operations and CFO Department.  The PCA applies extensive and diversified knowledge of Project Control Management principles and practices relevant to budgets, administration, risk assessment, and management to support laboratory programs and projects in meeting technical, cost and schedule objectives.

Under day-to-day direction of cognizant PPPL Department Head, the PCA exercises authority delegated by the Division Head to address critical issues, develop new concepts and execute overall objectives and policy matters in support of the Business Operations & CFO Department mission.

A principle element of this function is to maintain knowledge of compliance requirements and to ensure that these requirements are met at the program level through Laboratory policies and procedures.  Identification of problems and issues that impact the ability of a program or project to meet cost and schedule commitments, and bringing these matters to the attention of Project management and the Planning and Control Division Head for their action or recommendation for remediation is also significant.

Qualifications include: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years (10 year in lieu of degree) experience in a Project Control discipline and preferably in engineering or R&D environment utilizing Primavera commercial software products.

Prior experience using Primavera Project Planner (P6 or most current version) Project management software is required.  Must have the ability to use the personal computer to input large amounts of data on a daily basis and be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet programs (MS Office or equivalent) with thorough knowledge of project management planning and scheduling techniques.

 This position requires mobility to travel between different offices, floors and buildings within the Laboratory and the ability to carry 25 pounds of material such as paper or other office supplies.

An advanced degree and/or certification is a plus.
