Under the direction of a supervisor, the Emergency Services Officer provides specialized security, fire protection, emergency medical care and other protective services. The officer will perform investigations and document the results. The responsibilities of this position occur in all weather conditions and potential hazardous environments created by emergency situations. During emergency events, one may be required to assume a position in the Incident Command System. Must maintain personal physical standards required to meet the potentially rigorous challenges of this position.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• NFPA Firefighter 1 certification with a minimum of 3 years experience
• Minimum of 1 year EMT experience
• Minimum of 1 year security experience
• State of NJ EMT-B/D Certification
• Professional level CPR certification
• HazMat awareness and operations training
• Successful completion of NFPA medical evaluation and drug testing
• Valid drivers license
• Strong oral and written communication and sound judgment
• Must be able to work a schedule that includes rotational shift, weekends and holidays
• Incident command system training desired.
