MapPlot example 5
This mapping example was created using HLU C library calls, HLU FORTRAN
library calls, and NCL. It demonstrates how to create the ten different map
projections, with and without color fill. The names of the source files for
this example are mp05c.c, mp05f.f, and mp05n.ncl.
This module discusses how to create this example using HLU function
calls and a resource file. The program demonstrates how to create the
ten different MapPlot projections and then fill them by country.
The resource file used in this example is called
mp05.res.
A detailed discussion of how this example works appears in its source
code.
The HLU C program that generates this plot is called
mp05c.c.
The HLU FORTRAN program that generates this plot is called
mp05f.f.
The NCL script that generates this plot is called
mp05n.ncl.
This plot does not use any external data.
The examples are installed in the following locations:
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/hluex/mapplot/mp05c.c
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/hluex/mapplot/mp05f.f
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/nclex/mapplot/mp05n.ncl
You can copy this example and run it by typing
"ng4ex mp05c", "ng4ex mp05f",
or "ng4ex mp05n". A copy of the source file and resource file will be placed
in your current working directory. The source code will be compiled and
automatically run for you.
