TextItem example 1
This TextItem example can be created using HLU C library calls, HLU FORTRAN
library calls, or NCL. It demonstrates how to draw a text string on a plot
using the default resources. The
names of the source files for this example are tx01c.c, tx01f.f, and
tx01n.ncl.
This module discusses how to create this plot using HLU function
calls or NCL. A resource file is included with this example, and it is
called tx01.res. This file shows
all the default TextItem resources.
A detailed discussion of how this example works appears in its source
code.
The HLU C program that generates this plot is called
tx01c.c.
The HLU FORTRAN program that generates this plot is called
tx01f.f.
The NCL script that generates this plot is called
tx01n.ncl.
This plot does not use any external data.
You can produce this example by using a C program (tx01c.c),
a FORTRAN program (tx01f.f), or an NCL script (tx01n.ncl). The examples are
installed in the following locations:
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/hluex/textitem/tx01c.c
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/hluex/textitem/tx01f.f
- $NCARG_LIB/ncarg/nclex/textitem/tx01n.ncl
You can copy this example and run it by typing
"ng4ex tx01c",
"ng4ex tx01f", or "ng4ex tx01n". A copy of the source file and resource
file will be placed in your current working directory. The source code
will be compiled and automatically run for you.
