     Dr. Russell Kulsrud is retired from the lab and retains the position of Professor Emeritus in the Astrophysics Department. In 1954, after receiving his PhD in physics from the University of Chicago where his advisors were Chandrasekhar and Stromgren, he came to Princeton. He originally joined Project Matterhorn, the precursor to PPPL. He began teaching in 1960 and continued until 1999. He was Head of the Theory Division from 1963 to 1966. He went to Yale as a professor in 1966 returning to Princeton in 1967. He became a full professor in the Astrophysics Department in 1989 and received the Maxwell prize in 1993.
