The LTX control room (L208) serves as the center of machine operation, housing several computers which monitor and control LTX systems.

Computer Terminals

  • Bender: North end of western wall. Main run computer. Hosts the Run VI and automated analysis scripts.
  • Nibbler: Southern wall. OH control computer; communicates with OH PXI chassis via VIs for control and acquisition. Typically used for Remote Desktop to LTX-Fry-NB7 for nbGUI.
  • Peabody: North end of eastern wall. Previously communicated with Chronos DTACQ. Deprecated?
  • Leela: Eastern wall. Communicates with QCDM controllers and stepper motor controller.
  • Zoidberg: Eastern wall. Has three monitors. Communicates with thermocouple readers, ion gauge controller, and both vessel and beam tank RGAs. Also houses the filament bias control interface.
  • Hermes: Remote to NI PXI computer for RTD and Thermocouple Labview VIs.
  • LRRR: WinSpec and Visual Basic to control CHERS Holospec camera.
  • Donbot: WinSpec and Visual Basic to control CHERS Isoplane spectrometer and camera.
  • Clamps: WinSpec and Visual Basic to control Thomson scattering Holospec camera.
  • ?: Western wall. Large wall display for shot waveforms and video.
  • ?,?,?: Eastern wall. Large wall displays for test cell webcams.

Terminals Outside Control Room

  • Hypnotoad: Shared SolidWorks workstation. In L232 (postdoc office) next to Drew Elliott's desk.
  • Fry: Neutral beam control computer. In L111 (neutral beam cell), inside the neutral beam cage.
