To add a new service (like, say, MDSIP) to Multinet, do the following.
Not sure about the order, but hey ...

    $ multinet config/server
      > add mdsipe
      > --> multinet will prompt for parameters
        -or-
      > select mdsipe
      > set ...       ;set/modify parameters

      > enable mdsipe

    $ edit multinet:hosts.local
      --> add a line for the new service.  See mdsipe example.

    $ multinet host_table compile
    $ @multinet:install_databases.com

used carroll$:[nstx]foo.c foo.com and foo.exe to test (was echo
from multinet examples)
