Quantum Optimal Control of Stimulated Emission in Coumarin |
Quantum optimal control of stimulated emission in Coumarin 152. The Coumarin dye is nonlinearly excited with shaped 800 nm femtosecond pulses and stimulated with a white light continuum. The 800 nm control pulses are temporally shaped so as to induce a propagating wavepacket in the dye that optimally interacts with the white light seed. The use of quantum control techniques allow the resultant stimulated emission to be increased relative to that induced by an unshaped reference pulse. (Photo by J. Roslund) |
