Saddle coils

From LTX Wiki

A set of six saddle (i.e. plasma-radial field) coils mounted in the section P-A shell gap. Three saddle coils are mounted to the upper shell pair, and three are mounted to the lower shell pair. Each coil is a two-turn, shielded loop.

Acquisition

Fig. 1: Saddle Coil 10-pin Mil-C pinout (airside)
The saddle coil signal exits the vessel by 10-pin Mil-C feedthroughs on the upper and lower ports of bay O-P, using six of the ten available pins (Fig. 1). As of Nov. 14th 2017, the upper and lower saddle coil sets respectively are routed to integrator 5, channels 26-28 and 29-31; they are digitized on Helios channels 58-60 and 61-63.
