Symbol Constraints

You can display data satisfying different conditions with different symbols . These conditions may act as additional constraints on the plotted data. The format is the same as for constraints. For example, you can specify the symbol conditions RF<10e5 and RF>=10e5. Data satisfying the constraints and the conditions for the first symbol will be plotted with an , those satisfying the constraints and the second symbol condition will be plotted with a . Up to 50 symbols can be used. See section 2.9.4 to change the actual symbols and their size or to use different line types to display data satisfying the various symbol constraints.

In order to speed up some retrieves, LOCUS can parse simple symbol contraints of the form column operator constant, e.g., SHOT>62000 and column between constant1 and constant2, e.g., "IP BETWEEN 1.5 and 2.5". They are OR'd together and data satisfying any of these simple symbol constraints is gotten in a single retrieve. The user need not be aware of this, except when trying to optimize retrieval times.
