This is a double-probe setup, so the voltage requirement will be only a few kTe / e in either direction of the floating potential, or ˜10 V.

The current requirement will be the ion saturation current, which is:

I_{is}=-0.6n_{i}q_{i}v_{ti}A=-0.6\left(10^{6}\mathrm{cm}^{-3}\right)e\left(\sqrt{\left(2\mathrm{eV}\right)/\left(16\mathrm{amu}\right)}\right)\left(20\mathrm{m}^{2}\right)=6.7\,\mathrm{mA}
