FY06 milestone reports

• 1st Q06: Develop techniques for producing an n=0 steady-state near the 2005 700ev equilibria.
• 2nd Q06: Investigate role of edge density gradients and improve representation of computational domain.
• 3rd Q06: Incorporate refinements from Q1 and Q2 into nonlinear scoping studies.
• 4th Q06: Simulate nonlinear plasma edge phenomena using extended MHD codes with a resolution of 40 toroidal modes.(.pdf)

• 1st Q05: Quantify the scaling of unstable modes with resistivity and thermal conduction, and compare to linear codes
• 2nd Q05: Do simulations using accurate experimental profiles, and extend models to include ion stress tensor effects
• 3rd Q05: Further extend the studies to include variation of the electron pressure along field line, and look for appropriate equilibrium for test cases

Q1-equilibrium supplied by D. Brennan on 04/15/05: "Attached is the Q1 equilibrium file used in the first milestone. It is as advertised, strongly unstable at the edge. The density used in these studies was held constant at 0.980602861717928018E+20, or nearly 1e20."

• 4th Q05: Run simulations with up to 20 modes including density evolution, and extend deep into the nonlinear regime.
